There is a very dangerous medical malpractice bill up for hearing this Wednesday, July 18 in Lansing. I've been told that the new law basically says if a health care professional "believed" that what they were doing was well founded in medicine and "believed" that what they were doing was in the best interest of their patient, the doctor is immune regardless of whether these “beliefs” are true. If this bill passes, medical malpractice lawsuits could become a thing of the past, just like products liability did in Michigan. There is a major time crunch to get this done. The members of the Senate Insurance Committee must hear and receive emails from you if you oppose this no later than this Tuesday, July 17. This is an urgent matter.

Please call and email and ask everyone you know to call and email the members of the Senate Insurance Committee and urge them to oppose the medical malpractice bills that are up for hearing on July 18. Email addresses are below as well as the phone numbers.
