As our Shiner's journey closes, he has one final stop. He must pick up a tasty Octoberfest to take with him to the Ball, while your there you can ask what the still is actually called. It's always Abettor time with friends.

Exit 49 I -75 is a sign of a good time!

Don’t let some map apps fool you, exit 49 off I-75 is the most direct route to the Rockcastle Riverside Campground & Music Venue whether you’re coming from the North or South. You’ll find you only take 3 turns before you’re on the road that leads you along the riverside for 5 miles and brings you right to the venue!

Other things to keep in mind-

Feel free to prepay for parking by Venmo to the Livingston’s Fire Department and take a screen shot for proof before you get off the highway. This way you don’t have to deal with spotty service on site.

All attendees must have a wristband before they can park so head to the check in tent before trying to enter the parking lot! Parking is $10 if you’re staying or $20 for an in/ out pass!

Gates open Thursday October 8 at 3 pm!

We are proud to partner with Livingston Fire and Rescue again this year! They lend a HUGE helping hand to run the parking lot and assist tent campers to their sites.

PARKING COSTS $10 per a vehicle or a $20 in/out pass is available to those coming and going. ALL proceeds are kept by Livingston F&R, which is a volunteer fire department.

Please try to remember to bring cash 💵 but we do have Venmo as an option if phones are playing nice. Also please consider tipping those that help you haul your camping gear to your campsite.

Bluegrass Fans,

Let's talk about what's happening at The Moonshiner's Ball next Friday.

The greatest banjo player of all time is performing what by my count (and correct me if I'm wrong) will be only the 4rd bluegrass set he's played in the Bluegrass State in the last 20 years. There were three shows on his last My Bluegrass Heart tour back in 2022, one at the Brown Theater in Louisville and back-to-back nights at the IBMM in Owensboro.

I have no idea when he last performed at an outdoor music festival in Kentucky with a bluegrass band. It may have been Newgrass Revival.

If you're a fan of the genre, of great picking, and you want to see one of the absolute titans perform with a crack bluegrass band ... how could you even consider missing this?? Kentucky needs to turn out in big numbers. This is a legend making a rare appearance.

A little on the band he's bringing:

- Michael Cleveland - Fiddle. Say no more. The most awarded fiddle player in IBMA history. 12 times the Fiddle Player of the Year. He won a Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album in 2019 and has been nominated 4 other times. Hardest driving fiddle I've ever heard.

- Dominick Leslie - Mandolin. Two-time Grammy winner as the mandolin player for Molly Tuttle's Golden Highway. We saw him with Kyle Tuttle at the Ball just last year!

- Jake Stargel - Guitar. Georgia flat-picking phenom and recording engineer. Get this: he recorded The Wooks' 3rd album, Flying High, in his home studio! Toured with Sierra Hull for years. Was featured on Bryan Sutton's latest album on a jaw-dropping duo guitar rendition of "Crazy Creek". Go check this out.

- Mark Schatz - Bass. Legendary upright bass player. He's recorded and toured with a who's who of bluegrass and Americana legends including Nickel Creek, Tony Rice, John Hartford & Emmylou Harris.

- Jeff Partin - Dobro. Recording engineer and multi-instrumentalist. Came up with Mountain Heart and then Rhonda Vincent and is now getting the nod from Bela. Excited to hear what this guy's putting down!

Rockcastle Riverside massively expanded its parking lot, allowing us to sell far more day passes than we have in the past. We're just over an hour from Lexington.
