🚨 Big News for the Fireworks Industry 🚨

We at Sky Wonder Pyrotechnics are proud to share that we had the opportunity to help push forward HB1899 in Texas, a law that officially lowered the operator age requirement from 21 to 18. 🎆

This is a huge step forward for our industry! As many of you know, there has been a shortage of licensed pyrotechnic operators across the state. By lowering the minimum age, we’re opening the door for more young and passionate individuals to join the field and keep the tradition of fireworks displays alive for future generations.

We are honored to have had a voice in this change and thankful to all who supported it. Our hope is that this sparks new interest, encourages growth, and strengthens the future of pyrotechnics in Texas.

Today marks one year since we lost not only a key part of our company, but the heart of our Sky Wonder Pyrotechnics family.

Tammy wasn’t just our office manager she was a guiding light, a steady hand, and a source of wisdom, warmth, and strength for everyone here. She brought passion, grace, and a motherly kindness to everything she did whether keeping us organized, encouraging us through tough days, or cheering us on during our biggest shows.

Many of us still feel her presence in the little things: the way she greeted everyone, the way she remembered every birthday, and the way she made our workplace feel like home.

Today, we honor her memory and the immeasurable impact she had on all of us. She helped build the heart of this company, and her legacy lives on in every spark we send into the sky.

The U.S. government has imposed a 55% tariff on fireworks imports, blindsiding businesses like ours that already placed orders last year based on existing contracts. Now, we're expected to absorb massive unexpected costs—jeopardizing not just our business but the celebrations and traditions that bring communities together.

Here’s the reality: There is no American alternative for sourcing fireworks. Nearly all fireworks are manufactured in China, meaning businesses like ours have no choice but to import. A tariff is meant to encourage domestic production, but when no U.S. alternative exists, it only punishes small businesses, cities, and event organizers—not to mention the millions of people who enjoy these displays every year.

Next year marks the 250th anniversary of our nation, and instead of supporting this historic milestone, these tariffs will make fireworks displays unaffordable for many communities.

We need change NOW. We urge our industry partners, event organizers, and supporters to speak up and push back against these tariffs. Contact your representatives, share this message, and help us fight for fair policies that protect businesses and keep the tradition of fireworks alive.
