Most people would have walked away from this property.

A 1910 farmhouse with crumbling walls and overgrown grounds, now a fully restored private estate wedding venue in Livermore Valley, California.

Five bedrooms. Multiple ceremony sites. Garden terraces. A tennis court turned tented reception space. Sweeping views across the valley.

One event at a time. The entire property, entirely yours.

This is The Ranch at Birch Creek, one of Northern California's most distinctive private estate venues, and the story of how it got here is worth watching.

With summer just around the corner, this is the salad you need on your table. 🍅

Linda's Favorite Caprese Salad made with heirloom tomatoes when they're at their peak, and Birch Creek Estate olive oil harvested right here on the property.

What you'll need: Heirloom tomatoes (or multicolored cherry tomatoes), lettuce, fresh mozzarella or burrata, fresh basil, avocado, kalamata olives, Birch Creek Estate blend olive oil, balsamic glaze, salt & pepper.

To assemble: Layer lettuce on a large platter. Add tomatoes, fresh mozzarella or burrata, avocado, and kalamata olives. Sprinkle with chopped basil, drizzle generously with olive oil and balsamic glaze, finish with salt and pepper.

Serve with sourdough and a small dipping bowl of extra virgin olive oil and balsamic on the side. It makes a beautiful presentation at any spring or summer table.

If your wedding is in 2027, it might feel early to start thinking about venues. It's not.

The best private estate dates in California wine country book 12–18 months in advance.

May and June are when 2027 tours are being scheduled, and when the best dates are still available.

A simple timeline to keep in mind: tour now (May–July 2026), sign your contract by fall 2026, begin vendor conversations winter 2026. Arrive at your wedding year with the foundation already in place.

The couples who feel most at ease during planning are almost always the ones who secured their venue early.

This started with trees on the property, not a product

It was about sharing something that's genuinely ours.

The olives come from the grove here on property. The oil ends up on the table where your guests gather. That connection, from the land to the table, is something I never take for granted.

This is what hosting at the Ranch feels like. Nothing brought in. Nothing staged. Just what we've grown, made, and set out for the people who come here.

That's the kind of hospitality worth talking about long after the weekend ends.

Livermore Valley is one of California's oldest wine regions, and one of its most underrated wedding destinations.

The climate is warm and dry through summer and fall. The landscape is open and unhurried. And the light, particularly in September and October during harvest season, is something photographers travel specifically to capture.

It's about an hour from San Francisco and San Jose. Far enough to feel like a destination. Close enough for every guest to get there.

At the Ranch at Birch Creek, that setting becomes the backdrop for a completely private estate experience.

One event per weekend. Full property access. No shared spaces, no competing timelines.

If you're planning a wine country wedding in Northern California, Livermore Valley is worth exploring. ✨

This is something you can only fully understand when you walk the property

What guests actually remember from a wedding (and what they don’t).

When planning a wedding, it’s easy to focus on getting every detail exactly right.

But when the weekend is over, guests don’t remember most of those details.

They remember:
• How the day felt
• How much time they had together
• Whether the experience felt relaxed or rushed

This is why the structure of your venue matters more than most couples expect.

A space that allows for movement, flexibility, and time creates a completely different guest experience.

If you’re planning your wedding, this is a helpful shift in perspective as you make decisions. ✨

Your guests don’t see this, but they feel it immediately.

The ceremony space is being cleared. The dinner tables are being set. Every detail, the place cards, the candles, the florals, is being moved into exactly the right position before the doors open.

At a private estate, this transition happens without interruption.

No shared staff split between events. No rushed resets because another wedding is waiting.

Just a team focused entirely on your day, moving quietly in the background while you celebrate.

By the time your guests walk into dinner, it looks like it was always meant to be exactly this way.

That's the difference a private estate makes, not just in how the day looks, but in how it feels. 🥰

When couples compare wedding venues, “exclusive use” is often listed as a feature.
But it’s not just a feature, it completely changes how your day unfolds.

The getting ready experience is entirely your own.
With a full weekend stay, you’re already on property, settled in and able to ease into the morning at your own pace.

Single-day events begin at a set time.
With weekend access, there’s no rush to arrive, the day unfolds naturally from the moment you wake up.

The olive grove is yours for portraits at golden hour. The dance floor is yours until the last song.

No competing timelines. No vendors split between two events. No guests wandering into spaces that belong to someone else’s wedding.

Every part of the day belongs entirely to you. That’s what exclusive use actually means.

Ask every venue you tour how many events they host in a weekend.

Private tours are available, request yours via the link in bio. 🌿

The details that make it feel like home, even on your wedding day. ✨

A kitchen like this one changes the morning.

The getting ready, the gathering, the quiet moment before everything begins.

At a private estate, your whole party has access to the full property from the start, no hotel lobbies, no separate getting ready suites across town.

Just this.

If this is how you want your wedding day or weekend to feel, the next step is seeing it in person.

To the mothers who showed up early, stayed until the last song, and made sure every detail was exactly right.

This moment, right here on the porch of our estate, is one of our favorites. Quiet, unhurried, full of everything that doesn't need to be said out loud.

This is what a private estate wedding looks like when the whole family gets to be present for every part of the day.

No rushing between venues. No shared spaces. Just your people, your timeline, and moments like this one.

Happy Mother's Day from the Ranch family to yours. ❤️
