This is why I love what I do… at the end of Matt and Andi’s wedding and steam boat, one of the guests walked up to me while my 360 camera was still recording and shared this.

and I’m really glad it caught the conversation.

Taking requests is actually one of my favorite parts of DJing a wedding especially when it’s OK with the couple. Not every request belongs on the dance floor-and sometimes the timing just isn’t right-but when I can find a way to work in something that means something to a guest, I’m going to try.

Because sometimes that one song becomes one of the moments they remember.

Her last comment is the one that really stuck with me.

“You helped make a lot of great memories”

I had the opportunity to work with an incredible violinist up in Steamboat Springs. The couple we worked with loved the idea of incorporating her into their cocktail hour and dinner. And we turned it into a fusion experience and captured Beth on the violin playing along to “Ophelia” by the Lumineers while walking through the patio, interacting with guests.

It wasn’t a separate performance, it was live music layered right into the atmosphere that we were already creating.

It was so much fun and I cannot wait to do it again!

La Joya Dulce is also one of my favorite venues.. their team is incredibly helpful and go above and beyond.. from a vendor’s perspective.

A dad, a secret phone call a week before the wedding, and a father-daughter dance his daughter never saw coming.

For a few seconds, she thought I had played the WRONG song. 😂

Then she looked at her dad… 🥹

We are getting a lot of requests on adding a live sax player to the dance floor. And I love it, we brought Tyvon up to Steamboat Springs at and it was a vibe.

This is what I love about DJ + live musician fusion. It’s not a performance happening somewhere else in the room - the musician becomes part of the party.

And, yeah I can’t wait to do this again. 🎷 🔥

Instead of just announcing that the dance floor is open, what if you built into it?

For Andy & Matt’s celebration in Steamboat Springs, we brought in live sax to play alongside me as I DJ’d, gradually building the energy and pulling everyone toward the dance floor.

And once we got there… we didn’t stop.

This kicked off a three-hour dance set. 🎷

Such a fun night at La Joya Dulce, working alongside one of my favorite planners, Mandy, and an incredible team of vendors.

I love finding ways to make moments like this feel a little different and a lot more personal to the couple.
