Still processing being at Leading Women Defined ✨

To sit in a room listening to women like and speak so honestly about leadership, growth, purpose, business, and impact was something I truly needed.

Then getting the opportunity to do Aurora’s makeup before her panel and spend time with her? Full circle moment from 15 years ago doing a photo shoot at her store in NYC

I just finished listening to the audiobook and one thing that stayed with me is the reminder that growth starts with taking responsibility for your own vision, your own discipline, and your own purpose first. Nobody is coming to hand you the dream life. You build it. One decision at a time.

Hearing Aurora speak about the was incredibly inspiring. Beyond fashion and advocacy, she’s actively investing in the future of Black female-owned brands and entrepreneurs. Some moments stay quiet…until they don’t.

Now that it’s officially been announced, I can finally share that I had the honor of being personal makeup artist and hairstylist for on the film filmed in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Working with someone of her caliber is one thing…
but creating looks that translate on camera, hold up under long days and humid nights, and still feel effortless up close?
That’s the standard for this face - used my brow pencils

Every detail mattered.
Skin. Texture. Longevity. Lighting.

And a little full-circle moment I didn’t expect, getting to reconnect with friends I hadn’t seen almost 18 years to the date from my Los Angeles life pre 2007, and

Before the glam, before the flights, before the studio…
I was the one in the trenches. I was teaching preschool, nannying, and running a family daycare.

Translation? I’ve potty trained a lot of toddlers.

And for years, parents kept telling me the same thing after I worked with their kids:
“You need to write a book.”

I kept putting it on the back burner… I’ve had it in my drafts for months. Tweaking editing, perfectionizing…
until I attended a women’s conference that lit a fire under me and I finally decided - okay, it’s time. Let’s get this finished.
