We are a dynamic husband and wife team embarking on an exciting culinary adventure with our new food truck venture. Drawing inspiration from our Caribbean and South American roots and a love for flavors from around the globe, we’re bringing a unique fusion
of tastes to the streets. Quacy's culinary expertise lies in crafting mouthwatering dishes bursting with vibrant spices and bold flavors, honed through years of mastering traditional recipes passed down through generations. Meanwhile, Shenella's creativity knows no bounds as she incorporates influences from the Caribbean and Guyanese cuisine, adding her own innovative twists to classic favorites. We were both born in Guyana, which is located in South America, but despite the geographic location, Guyana is culturally tied to the Caribbean due to its history of British colonial rule and its membership in the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). Guyana’s strong ties to the Caribbean stems from its shared cultural heritage, including influences from African, Indian, European, and indigenous people. Culturally, Guyana shares many similarities with its Caribbean neighbors in terms of music, cuisine, festivals, and language. Quacy also lived in the Netherlands for twelve years, so he brings a flare of the Dutch fusion to our cuisine. We both work fulltime jobs in the healthcare industry, Quacy as a Culinary Director and Shenella as a Human Resources Management. But our love and passion has always been food, and sharing it with anyone we can. Quacy’s love and passion for food is also shared with his love and passion for mixing music. Being an experienced and professional DJ, and a lover of island vibes, his music is an essential part of the Gift of Taste food truck experience. It is our love for food and music that has inspired us to start this venture and share the Gift of Taste Kitchen - Caribbean Cuisine with the world. We truly believe that “Good Food is Like Music to your Soul”. Together, we aim to tantalize taste buds and transport customers on a culinary journey with each bite. Our food truck promises an immersive experience where patrons can savor the rich tapestry of flavors that Caribbean Cuisine has to offer, while also exploring exciting dishes from other corners of the world. With our passion for food and a shared vision for creating memorable dining experiences, we are set to make our mark on the food truck scene, bringing a taste of paradise to hungry foodies everywhere with the Gift of Taste Kitchen – Caribbean Cuisine.
