Years ago, I read some advice about what I should plant in my cut flower garden. I didn't just scoff at this advice—I actually rolled my eyes.🙄
"Yeah right," I thought. I wanted to grow a FLOWER garden, not a bunch of boring green stuff and piddly filler! Who needs leaves when you can have BIG BLOOMS? Foliage? Please.
I marched into my garden plot with beginner confidence, ready to prove this “expert” wrong. 🙃
Fast forward to mid-season, and there I stood in my garden, clutching fistfuls of Cosmos, Zinnias and Sunflowers… with nothing else to mix them with. The "bountiful bouquets" I'd envisioned were nowhere to be found… 🤷
My bouquets looked like the floral equivalent of a middle school dance—all participants standing awkwardly apart with nothing to fill the painful gaps. 🤣
