September 6 update! We had yet another full day of rain yesterday that has made the trails muddy again. We will stay open for the weekend, but would estimate about 20% or less of the field has good looking blooms.

The trails have dried out for the most part thanks to sunny weather! You might have to walk a bit to find some good looking flowers, but the next 4-5 days will be all that’s left for Sunflower trails 2025. Remember, because of all the weather issues we've had, you only have to pay if you want to!

Labor day update: The storm that dropped 3 inches of rain yesterday battered a lot of the sunflower blooms and it is still quite wet on the trails. There are some newer blooms that still look good and there will be some more new blooms here in the next few days, but with the weather struggles we've had this year we are thinking we will make the rest of this year donation only (pay if you want to).

The best flowers are a quarter mile walk into the field and your shoes will get very muddy. We lost half our flowers at planting when we got a big 4 inch flood. It's been one of those years for sunflowers, but for our other crops we are very thankful for the rain!

3 inches of rain last night! As farmers we are very thankful for the rain 🙌 but the sunflower trails are SOAKED! It will be a few days before they are very walkable.. We will remain open but just know you will be sinking a few inches into the mud with each step for awhile. 😕

Sunflower trails are open! Still gonna be a little muddy tonight and tomorrow, but there's a chance of rain Saturday night that could make it even muddier. Good news is the weather is beautiful! UPDATE: Another shower rolled through at 5 PM on Friday evening. It is very muddy! You can walk the trails but your shoes will be covered in mud.

Sunflowers are blooming! But with the weather forecast we ask you wait to visit until maybe this weekend as it will likely be VERY muddy until then.

Sunflower Trails 2025 is right on schedule to be the last week of August again this year! We will have a smaller sunflower field this year, due to some of them getting drowned out by the crazy amount of rain we got in the last month. “The Heights” is a 7,200 square foot venue located on Greg and BrookeAnna Peterson’s farm that hosts weddings, receptions, meetings, and large group gatherings. It is just south of the iconic Coronado Heights and just 5 minutes from the tourist town of Lindsborg, Kansas.

There are many advantages of hosting an event at “The Heights!”
-Beautiful countryside view
-More affordable than hotels and formal event centers
-Convenient location… just off a blacktop road and only two miles from town
-Private location… no neighbors or public roads within a half a mile
-Perfect place for a “rustic” themed reception
--Nearby sunflowers in late August and early September (bloom dates not guaranteed)
-Large interior space (7200 sq ft) with a concrete floor
-Large capacity…seats up to 500 people with room for a dance floor
-Flexibility…cater food or bring your own food, drinks, etc. for no extra fee
-Includes indoor restrooms, 400 chairs, and 40 tables for no extra cost
-1,000,000 BTU indirect fired heater for rental (raises temperature of the building 30-40 degrees)
-Climate controlled "Bridal Suite" for getting ready or overnight stays
-Parking next to building
-Tourist activities at Coronado Heights or nearby Lindsborg, KS
-Restaurants, hotels, and Bed & Breakfasts in nearby Lindsborg, KS or Salina, KS

There are still plenty of blooms that look good in our field! (These pics were taken yesterday) However, be aware that we are past the "peak bloom" and many of the flowers now look like the first picture where the petals are naturally ripening and drying out as they mature. We will be open a few more days but want to set your expectations for what it might look like. We'll post a link in the comments about how these sunflowers will be harvested and more info about how to visit this field! We had a great weekend full of visitors and beautiful sights.

Our Story

“The Heights” is located on Greg and BrookeAnna Peterson’s farm north of Lindsborg, KS. We both grew up in the Lindsborg, KS area. We got to know each other in a Bible Study that met on top of Coronado Heights in the summer of 2016. We got engaged on Coronado Heights in August of 2017. After hosting our wedding reception at “The Heights” in March 2018 (pictured above), we started our lives together on the farm! The Coronado Heights area is one of our favorite places in the world and we look forward to sharing it with others as part of our business!
