OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: CANDIDATES FORUM CANCELLATION
The Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the League of Women Voters, Rotary, and the Event Center, regrets to inform the community that tonightβs Candidates Forum has been canceled indefinitely.
We sincerely apologize for the confusion and changes surrounding this event.
We would like the community to know that this forum was organized in direct response to requests from Lincoln residents. After being contacted by numerous community members and learning that no other organizations had proposed hosting a candidates forum, the Chamber stepped forward and collaborated with our community partners to make this opportunity possible.
Despite the short timeline, we had received confirmation from three candidates, with a fourth tentatively putting it on their calendar and considering their participation for the October 19th date. Unfortunately, that date no longer works for 2 of the candidates. No alternative dates have been provided to us. Therefore, we are unable to reschedule the forum at this time.
We understand that some candidates will be hosting an informal meet-and-greet at Beermann Plaza in Downtown Lincoln, where residents will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with those in attendance. All candidates are welcome to participate in this informal Q&A tonight at 6pm.
Our goal was simple: to provide Lincoln residents with an opportunity to hear from their candidates, ask important questions, and make informed decisions.
The Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce remains committed to serving our community, encouraging civic engagement, and supporting opportunities for open, respectful dialogue.
