The weather is getting cooler, and that makes me feel even more like baking. So, it's Kolache time! Order by this Wednesday at noon for pickup on Friday between 3 and 6. Flavors: Apple, Apricot, Cherry, Cream Cheese, Lemon, Poppyseed, Peach and Prune. Minimum order is 6, you can mix and match flavors. $22 per dozen. Message or email [email protected] to order.

Every so often, we cross paths with people at just the right time! That happened to me recently when I met my new friend Rolli. Rolli loves to cook and was looking for some new ways to serve the community. Today, she came to St Paul's and cooked up the most delicious Indian dish for community meals. Thank you, Rolli!!

A huge shout out to Bryan Trost for the generous donation of fresh produce from his family's stand. I was so overwhelmed I didn't even get a picture - sweet corn, tomatoes, onions, cantaloupe, watermelon and other items. Our guests at Community Meals will get a nice surprise on Wednesday and the guests at Connection Point's pantry tomorrow will also share in the bounty. I am so thankful to have made this connection.

We had a great sandwich crew today! 280 sandwiches and 4 casseroles given to Havelock Christian Church to give to people who come to get clothing at Brocks Boutique. Just another example of our community partnerships. Thanks Christina, Brittney, Cat and Wyatt!

Today is the big day! I am overwhelmed by the generosity of my community. There are still almost 8 hours to get in your donation if you haven't yet. The work we do makes a huge impact in the lives of our neediest neighbors, and while I wish it didn't take money to do the work, it does. One of the services we offer through Loaves and Fishes is $20 towards laundry for each household every month. This is possible through our partnership with SOAP laundry. We provide $10 and they kick in $10. This is quickly becoming one of our biggest expenses. Our Community Meals program through Loaves and Fishes serves over 100 hot meals per week at St. Paul UMC. We have always tried to give our guests a restaurant-like experience which includes a choice of entrees and side items. It's all part of our mission to make sure that our neediest neighbors feel seen and have some dignity even while receiving help with the most basic of needs. We are so thankful for St Paul United Methodist Church! They provide us with the space to serve our Community Meals and space to store our supplies. We couldn't do our work in the community without our faithful partners. A huge shout out to the Super Saver at 27th and Cornhusker for allowing us to pick up food that can't be sold every Wednesday.
