This is a hard post to write. More because I have so many things I want to say, but at the same time, no words seem to be right to express this season we are in.
7 years ago, we prayed for this exact home. A space our kids would feel safe, some place they could make friends, ride bikes, and play in a big yard. We were living in a tiny 2 bedroom apartment prior, basically no money to our names, drowning in debt. It’s the same story so many of us have lived. But we prayed God would provide a house our kids could grow up in that would not just be a house, but a home. Over the years we have grown so much here, we have cried, laughed, had arguments, hosted Thanksgivings and Fourth of July parties, learned how to garden, bake, homeschool our children, and so many other things. But as we feel like God will be closing this chapter for us soon, we wanted pictures to be able to document such a special place for us.
When Melissa Jorgensen Photography reached out a few months back about swapping sessions with me, I knew this is exactly what I would want her to capture. Just us in our space, being goofy, dishes still in the sink, legos out in the corner, not a perfect space, but our space.
I don’t know when God will call us to our next home, but I will forever be thankful for this one.
