The 2026 season is officially underway at PineRidge Speedway, and four drivers kicked things off with trips to victory lane Saturday night in Baldwyn, MS.

𝗞𝗮𝘆, 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗴𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿!

The 49th season at Talladega Short Track officially began Saturday night at “The Hornet’s Nest” with strong fields across the Crate Racin’ USA divisions.

Marty Massey charged from sixth to win the CRUSA Late Model Sportsman feature, while David Kay held off a late-race charge from Jake Knowles to claim the CRUSA Dirt Late Model victory in a 22-car field. In the CRUSA Modified Sportsman division, Steve Pate took the win over Jason Markewitz and Shane Griffith.

Talladega Short Track returns to action Sunday, March 22 for the BAMA BASH featuring the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series paying $12,000 to win, along with CRUSA Late Model Sportsman, CRUSA Modified Sportsman, and Factory Stocks.

Meridian, Mississippi driver Spencer Hughes thrilled the hometown crowd Saturday night by capturing the MS Crate Late Racing Series feature during the 14th Annual Battle of the States at Whynot Motorsports Park.

Hughes charged from the fourth starting position and made a decisive move on the bottom of turn two with just three laps remaining to take the lead and secure the $2,000 victory in the 30-lap caution-free main event.

Jason Henry finished second after running near the front throughout the race, while Deisel Jones rounded out the podium in third after starting from the pole position. David Williamson finished fourth and Nick Thrash completed the top five.

𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗖𝗥𝗨𝗦𝗔 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗺𝗮 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿!

The “Playground of Power” came back to life Saturday night as East Alabama Motor Speedway opened the 2026 racing season with 84 cars across seven divisions competing in front of a strong crowd in Phenix City, Alabama.

In the CRUSA 604 Dirt Late Models, Colby Darda got his season off to a strong start by leading all 25 laps of the feature event to claim the victory. Darda held off Russ Ogletree and Jimmy Thomas to take the win after starting from the front row. Rodgerick D***s advanced from seventh to finish fourth while Kyle Knotts rounded out the top five.

Following the win, Darda credited his team and supporters for helping put the No. 91 machine in victory lane to start the season.

In the CRUSA Late Model Sportsman division, Charley Cowart worked his way through the field from the sixth starting position and took the lead on lap 12 before going on to win the 20-lap main event. Sterling Evilsizer finished second, followed by Hunter Robbins, Jaxon Dunn, and Charles Gower.

Phillip Bryan earned Hard Charger honors in the Sportsman division, advancing eight positions from 15th to seventh.

East Alabama Motor Speedway will return to action on Friday, March 27 when the World of Outlaws Super Late Model Series visits the Playground of Power. The event will also feature Hobby and Road Warrior divisions.

Alabaster, Alabama’s Deisel Jones has claimed the 2026 Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin’ USA Winter Shootout Series Championship after a strong and consistent six-race campaign.

Jones scored three wins during the mini-series, including the $12,000 feature at HendryCounty Motorsports Park, along with victories at Needmore Speedway and Volusia Speedway Park, finishing the season with 476 points to secure the title.

The championship marks Jones’ first major CRUSA series title and makes him the 8th different champion in the eleven-year history of the Winter Shootout Series.

Next up, Jones sets his sights on the 2026 CRUSA Dirt Late Model Series, beginning March 27–28 at Needmore Speedway for the $10,000-to-win Southern Heritage Classic.
