As a business owner who undoubtedly forgets ingredients on my weekly orders, I often make smaller runs throughout the week. I dread them, because I am neurodivergent and the stores are loud and busy and usually too much. But today when I walked in, I held back tears, because it felt quiet, too quiet. I grew up in a family where food was gift, a time to cherish and a moment to remember and I have the beautiful ability to try and emulate that as an adult in my business and in my life.
Food is not political….. feeding people IS NOT POLITICAL.
Food is love and safety, comfort and hope, it’s sustaining.
And yet so many are going without.
So in the hopes that we can keep that from happening please considering donating funds, time or food to the places in the photo above or any other working to help the local community.
