I really struggle with the fact that social media is a must these days for any small business owner.

Often a whole day goes by so fast without a single photo or video taken. So many deliveries out the door and I can't get it together to stop just for a few minutes to capture their beauty...but I can get it together to video the cows that brought the deliveries this day to a stop 😃 in the middle of 42.

Just a little behind the scenes while out delivering one day about a month ago.

Another peak from this past weekend! Congrats Ethan & KaliKali Weikle Sue Van D**e

Alexsis Brown and Hadley Westfield do their best work when given complete creative freedom.
Given a color palette and told both the bride and groom love sunflowers...the outcome for an outdoor ceremony at Kingwood Center Gardens on a beautiful fall day was 👌

This post will not go over well with everyone, but for those who know me and the passion I have for flowers and the industry will completely understand...and they may even wonder what took me so long to start running my mouth 😆
The majority of our customers understand that the economy directly effects our business...we are absolutely a want based business, not a need based business. They understand that flowers are either shipped in from thousands of miles away or that I spend months cultivating flowers for us to use in our designs. They know that I'm passionate about sourcing the best quality and flowers grown with the most ethical practices...and to those customers I say thank you for valuing our artistic talent, and our hardwork. Thank you for staying updated on current economic events that impact the cost of goods that are effecting Every Single Small Business in America! ..BUT for those of you who are down right rude to me or my staff regarding our pricing or who act as if they are entitled and that fair pricing doesn't apply to them....you will be schooled.
This is a dying industry and I didn't get back into retail to be another statistic. I also refuse to pay my talented staff minimum wage...which means if you pay X amount of $ (not including Uncle Sam's $) that I will take out a percentage for labor and the price of the flowers will be marked up, because that's how we pay our utilities, rent, insurance, etc. I also refuse to have my employees drive unsafe vehicles because you feel our delivery fees are to high.
If you want cheap subpar flowers...you know where to find them...or if you don't, pop your bubble...they are everywhere...under valued employees, chemicals and all.

It has been awhile since we have posted...sorry about that, but we have been busy behind the scenes!
This season I have been blessed with a true gift from a flower farming friend for which I am truly grateful for...and today the ladies got a glimpse into my world - flower flarming.
Three generations of florists harvested for almost 2 hours straight in the heat of the day...don't worry we were well hydrated and enjoyed lunch together afterwards.
The point of his post is that we have been busy making a lot of changes behind the scenes at the shop...changes that will only benefit the sustainably of our floral business for years to come in an industry that is changing fast.
Thanks for being here...and stay tuned as we time lapsed this harvest and will have a video of two hours of work down to two minutes 😆 posted soon!
