Chef/owner of full circle catering, jenny elmes, of Lexington Virginia:

Let’s get right down to it folks-I’m a liberal feminist.

For 16 years I have operated my business under this premise-
Cook great food using locally sourced, sustainable, organic ingredients; work hard; keep mindful of the environment; be altruistic; use my earnings to support what I believe in ( among these issues)- women’s rights, under paid workers, unjust laws, racism, and the hate spewed by the new regime.

I have catered for fine folks up and down the Valley and beyond and for “famous” people ranging from Antonin Scalia to Toni Morrison.
I will continue to decide, as owner of my business, who I chose to work with and share my gift with.

As most small businesses do I started with basic premises’ but the most important is this-
“I am not defined by my business, however, I do define my business.”

Long after full circle catering is but a memory I will remain- jenny elmes- liberal, feminist, champion of women and of the food insecure, fighter for equality, working towards bettering the economy in my small town while being ever mindful of the environmental impact I make.

I will stand, literally and physically, hand in hand with like- minded citizens who too are fighting the good and just fight.

besides calls and emails i've spent the last 3 weeks investigating companies that i want to support with my money. Amazon is NOT one of them.
i live remotely, i run a business, i have kids, and ive managed to source all of my former amazon items from like minded businesses!
in other news damn for rolling back their DEI but i'll become a supporter!

PSA my dear friends.
When donating items to food pantries (and this is true all year through) please consider adding into your donation some paper supplies or body products like toothpaste or shampoo.
These are items many food pantries do not have or have in limited supply and guess what?! folks with Virginia SNAP benefits can't purchase cleaning supplies, paper supplies, trash bags,
body products, and baby products with their benefits. This includes necessary medications too and those items add up!
crew donated toothpaste to RARA as our community gift this year and we encourage@ other groups to do the same.
