🚨 Balloon Artists – Scam Alert 🚨
Just a heads up to everyone — I was contacted today by someone claiming they wanted to book balloon columns/towers. Everything seemed normal at first, but it quickly turned into a known Venmo/Zelle scam.
⚠️ Red flags I experienced:
Wouldn’t confirm event location or fill out my required install survey
Claimed payment was “sent” before details were finalized
I then received a fake Venmo text saying my account was “on hold” and that a $500 security deposit was required to release funds
Text came from a random phone number, not Venmo
Nothing showed inside the actual Venmo app
This is NOT how Venmo works. Venmo will never ask you or a client to send extra money to “unlock,” “verify,” or “upgrade” an account.
If you receive:
texts/emails claiming payments are pending
requests to refund or send money back
instructions to call a phone number
screenshots instead of in-app payments
👉 Do not respond. Do not send money. Block and report.
