Being a mom is the biggest privilege of my life. Motherhood is messy; and it’s full of joys and challenges and learning things about myself. It means reading that book for the 100th time, never choosing what to listen to in the car, and scooting over in the middle of the night to make room for one more.

I am literally having dreams of dahlia tubers. I’ve spent lots of time over the last few weeks identifying eyes on tubers to be shipped out or to be planted in my own rows.

I’m thrilled to have 500 dahlias planted out!! It will be a flower-filled summer, which reminds me, the Summer Bouquet Subscriptions are OPEN on the website. They would make a lovely Mother’s Day gift or…..

I harvested these tulips a bit premature because of the darn gophers 😠

I saw the tulips lying completely limp on the dirt and when I gave the stem a light tug they slid right up out of the ground with no bulb and some nice little nibble marks on the stem.

Luckily tulips are wonderful at springing back to life and rehydrating. They went from being limp noodles to nice and tall in just a few hours.

Now to go and set a few gopher traps!
