Today is the day for the Echo Christmas Market!
🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

There are wonderful, local vendors set up as well as Sno Road Winery.

I’ll have Christmas centerpieces (long lasting because they include evergreen), dried flowers, bulbs, and more.

Come grab a pal, get a glass of wine, and do some shopping that supports local business.

The market goes from 9-3.

Centerpieces and porch pots filled with greenery, berries, and other festive elements will be at the Echo Christmas Market this Saturday (the 6th) from 9-3. I’ll be at the Sno Road Winery…. I’ll be the lady with sap stained hands that smell like pine 😆🎄

If you’ve ever come to do a U-pick or pick up flowers here there’s a good chance that Clementine has come to greet you (or maybe even hopped in your car). I am so sad to say that we had to say goodbye to Clementine this last week. 😥

She was the most friendly, cuddly little dog. I miss her stealth-fully climbing into my lap, tearing off like a bullet to chase pheasants, and welcoming herself onto my children’s beds at night. I am finding that the house feels quiet without her. She definitely left a little Clemmy shaped hole in my heart.

It always amazes me how the garden reveals so many life truths. There is one truth that has been on my mind lately.

It’s so easy to look out at our gardens (lives) and only see the weeds (bad stuff). We can become critical when we look at our kids, or spouses, or in the mirror when it’s not exactly what we want… kids didn’t listen and pick up properly (hypothetical of course), husband hasn’t completed the project (once again hypothetical), our reflections shows more grays and more pounds that before (clearly hypothetical 😝). When we only have eyes to see weeds it’s easy to spot them. But what if we focused on all the flowers, the good things, what we have to be thankful for in our lives? Wouldn’t that be prettier?

I know that sometimes in nature I can overlook some of the gorgeous miracles if I don’t take time to look: hoarfrost, pinecones, little buds forming. The same is true of living daily with other people. I can overlook all of the wonderful, beautiful, everyday things that are quite lovely.

I am hoping to have eyes ready to see all the beauty going on around me both outside in nature and inside my home. I hope that for you too!!💚

This is my first year growing chrysanthemums and I’m feeling like the mum fairy! I’ll be sharing my late fall harvest in simple, white arrangements at Market 87 today.

Mums have an amazing vase life (20+days), so they’d make a lovely touch of freshness in your Thanksgiving table.

I’m already planning new colors and varieties to grow next year, because they are such a fun crop for late fall.

Amaryllis- the most stunning flower to grow inside during the winter. It’s so fun to watch them grow and bloom during the holiday season.

This year I am offering three different varieties all in unique and festive vessels. I’ll be dropping some off at Market 87 with time to shop local for and I’ll have them at the Echo Christmas Market on Dec 6!

All my tulip bulbs have been planted thanks to my littlest helper! They are simple enough for anyone to plant and then there will be a beautiful payoff in the spring!🌷

As someone who grows tulips as an annual (meaning I plant new bulbs each year because when I harvest them I leave the bulb attached) I think that they are simplest to grow in raised beds. They’ll be more protected from those dastardly little yellow-toothed gophers that way. I lost a lot of tulips to them last year 😡 I love my raised beds from

If you are looking to grow your own tulips, I have some lovely double- petalled varieties that can be found at Market 87 in Heppner or at the Echo Christmas Market on Dec. 6th (a fun gift for the gardener in your life).
