Over the weekend the Flower Shoppe got spruced up to host a baby shower. It was a lovely day and one of my favorite parts was seeing guests both young and old put together bouquets at the Flower Bar. Everyone’s bouquet was different but they were all beautiful. 💐

If you have an event coming up (baby shower, bridal shower, birthday, retirement party, or just because) and want to add something special a Flower Bar is a super fun idea that everyone will love. I have different packages available.

It’s the last day of June, which means we are half way through 2025 😳

Since half of the year is in the past and there is still half in the future, I sat down to look at some of the ‘wins’ and things I’m super happy with from the first half of the year and also some things I want to do better at during the second half of the year.

One absolute WIN for me was planting a little wildflower patch. It was incredibly easy to plant (just tossed out some seed) and it’s been such a joy to watch and see what has been popping up!

I highly recommend tossing out some wildflower seeds! I also highly recommend looking at some of your wins from the first half of 2025!!

The first dahlia is blooming!!!!

I’m so pleased to have dahlias this early in the season. When all the dahlias begin to bloom that will mean the U-pick field will open up. I’d love to have it open mid-July. Check here or the website (seedandtrowel.com) for U-pick updates.

It’s defiantly feeling summery with the first sunflower of the season! Summer Bouquet subscription will be kicking off in July and there is one more week to sign up for fresh, locally grown blooms delivered right to you!

Today’s harvest will become bouquets for tomorrow’s Farmers Market in Hermiston

June has been so good this year, but the wagon really overflows once the dahlias start blooming in late summer- I can’t wait!!

I’ve mentioned Scabiosa before and even though it has THE WORST name it deserves its own square because of the fact that it is a perennial that pumps out long, airy stems in either white or blue.

When it comes to perennials you may have heard the term: sleep, creep, and leap. This means that typically the first year they don’t do much growing, the second year they just do a little bit, and then the third year their growth takes off. This is definitely true for peonies, but these Scabiosa are defiantly leaping over here in year 2.

I love adding these airy blooms to bouquets!
