I was very blessed to travel to Grenada recently and I learned so much about tropical flowers. I wanted my first post to be about grocery store flowers. In Grenada this would be your choice for flowers to take home. The prices were $15 and $20 EC. That would be either $5.53 or $7.38 in US currency. Some of these flowers would cost that for one stem in Texas. One advantage when living on a tropical island.

I'm so happy with my Paris Flower Co. sign. I love how it looks in my kitchen. This was a custom order with Mabray Made and they did a fabulous job. In my search for local flowers I found an amazing flower farm. I was very disappointed that Arnosky Family Farm was so far away at the time. While I was planning my trip I discovered they were 12 miles away from Wimberly where we stayed on Monday. Of course another flower stop was made. So glad we got to stop by the Blue Barn where the flowers are sold on the honor system. We couldn't bring any home but it was fun to see the farm and the blue barn!

The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center was a great flower stop. It was hot but the inside information center and icy cold water stations helped make the experience tolerable on a hot summer day. The architecture around the gardens was just as beautiful as the grounds. Here are a few Texas flowers that can take the heat. These gardens must be amazing in the spring when the bluebonnets are blooming. I will be coming back!

I'm so excited to be posting and sharing my love of flowers again. This page will be changing from a place to post the flowers I create to sharing my love of flowers in every way possible! I have so many ideas so I hope your will join me in my new flower journey. I will start next week when I take my family on a tour of Austin and San Antonio.
