Happy Father’s Day to the man who gives so much of himself to our family.

You spend your nights and weekends on baseball fields, in gyms, and wherever our kids need you, coaching, encouraging, teaching, and showing up again and again. You’ve impacted not only our own children but so many others who are lucky enough to have you in their corner.

Our kids adore you, and I do too. Watching the way you lead our family, love us so intentionally, and put others before yourself has shown me what it truly means to be a good man.

Thank you for being the kind of father our children will always look up to and the kind of husband I’m so grateful to walk through life with. We love you so much. ❤️ Happy Father’s Day!

People often ask why we invest so much time, money, and energy into baseball.

It’s not because we think he’ll play in the MLB.

It’s because baseball teaches things that are hard to learn anywhere else.

It teaches him how to work hard when nobody is watching.

How to handle failure, because in baseball, even the best players fail a lot.

How to be coachable, respectful, and accountable.

How to show up for a team that depends on him.

How to manage pressure, stay disciplined, and keep going when things don’t come easy.

It teaches patience, resilience, confidence, humility, and grit.

The wins are fun. The trophies are nice. But those aren’t why we’re here.

We’re here because one day the games will end, but the character he’s building will stay with him for the rest of his life.

Baseball is just the vehicle.

The real goal is raising a young man who knows how to work hard, persevere through challenges, lead others well, and give his best effort in whatever he does.

That’s why we play.

Before we dive in, this isn’t about guilt or doing things
“wrong.” Screens are part of modern life, and for many kids (especially neurodivergent ones, they can be regulating and helpful. This list is simply about noticing patterns and supporting your child well.

You might see a need for more balance if your child:

1. Has big emotions when screens turn off
2. Says “I’m bored” immediately without a device
3. Seems extra irritable or emotional after long screen
sessions
4. Repeats behaviors, tones, or attitudes they’ve seen
online
5. Doesn’t respond when spoken to while watching
6. Feels tired but also wired afterward
7. Struggles to fall asleep or stay asleep
8. Sneaks extra screen time or pushes limits
9. Complains constantly when devices are away
10. Loses interest in imaginative play or connecting with others

Seeing a few of these doesn’t mean screens are “bad” or need to disappear overnight. Often it just means your child’s nervous system needs more variety, rhythm, and real-life input, not punishment.

Handing your child a screen in the morning is literally ruining their day...

Feel like you’re turning on the TV a little too often for your toddler so you can get a few things done in the morning?
I’ve been there. The mom guilt was real. But I needed to get things done. So instead of screens I moved to a
“morning basket” and it’s been a game changer for a smooth and peaceful morning. Sometimes I clean sometimes I pack for the day or even just sit down and read the Bible but either way my toddler is screen-free, learning and having fun!

I change it every few days and here’s what’s been a hit this week!
