But, here's what 15 minutes actually looks like:

— Kids are curious and it's a new experience, so they are engaged.
— Nobody's melted down yet
— You have photos before anyone gets bored

That's the whole idea.

Five things I wish every family knew before their mini session:

1️⃣You don't need to coordinate perfectly — cohesive beats matchy every time.
2️⃣Your kids don't have to cooperate. I work with what I get. That's literally my job.
3️⃣15 minutes goes faster than you think — show up ready.
4️⃣Outdoor light in East TN is genuinely stunning. Trust the setting.
5️⃣The "imperfect" shots are almost always the ones you'll love most.

Getting a little one to smile on cue is a different situation entirely. (Although this sweet kiddo is always smiley!!)
Fortunately, I've been doing this since 2007, and I have a few tricks.

(Most of them involve making myself look ridiculous. It works every time.)

My clients always slay their outfit choices.
But in case you need some help:
1. Think neutrals.
2. Only use small prints on and just on one family member.
3. When in doubt, a dress or skirt creates movement that a majestic.
