We have closely monitored local and national news and daily reports from health officials since many states announced re-openings. As feared, it was way to soon and the pandemic in the US is now out of control and the numbers are sky rocketing with some health officials stating there is “too much virus” out there at this point to make taking control and reversing this course possible in the near future. Even with this glaring truth, many government officials are making their decision based on money and politics and refusing to reverse course and issue mandatory orders for lock downs, social distancing, and mask wearing.
It will be left in the hands of individuals, groups, and social communities to be the true heroes and allies to those fighting the battle in the medical field, making fact based choices that will protect ourselves, our families, and our friends.
In that spirit, MTA has decided to cancel our summer event “Redneck Riviera”. We are sad that we will not be able to get together and celebrate as only we can do, but it is not a hard decision nor one we regret. We are proud and grimly determined to not send conflicting messages by holding our event when such gatherings can easily escalate an already dire situation.
Anyone who has already purchased ticket on Eventbrite should have received email notification of the total refund we completed this morning. Please reach out to us if you have not and remember to check ALL inboxes.
As always, play hard, be safe and be assured we are already working on an event for late fall at our home bar, Missie B’s.
