So, the first problem is where on earth is Urich, MO. Second problem, Urich, MO doesn’t have a Quick Trip. I don’t mind being sent to the far corners of America’s Midwest to shoot houses but sending me to towns without a QT is like sending an astronaut on a space walk without being tethered. It can get very dicey.

Well, to my delight I rolled up to this house and thought I had walked on the set of Disney’s Tangled. Gorgeous home in a great historic neighborhood. And, as it turned out. Urich has a nice Casey’s. Which is almost as good as Quick Trip!!!

Whenever I first arrive at a listing to shoot, I always like to walk through first and pickup the vibe. Every home reflects the people living there. Pinball machine in the living room – bachelor, airplane memorabilia – pilot, well designed – fans of HGTV.

But every now and then you enter a home with a very unique style. This agent has a knack for bringing me Kansas City landmarks. I love the feel of this home. The owners are truly lovers of art and I would love to sit in this living room and talk about the French Renaissance.

I know a top priority for most families when evaluating a new home are the schools. But, for me it’s how close is the house to a really good taco spot. This gorgeous listing in the Brookside area has been totally updated but what really got my attention was that it was walking distance to Brookside Barrio.

Had to earn it on this one. Sent out to Hallbrook to shoot some follow up images for this listing. The difficulty is the house, like so many Hallbrook homes, is a country mile long with a small front yard. So, I’ve got to back up to about the Plaza to get far enough away to shoot the entire front of the house. But, the home is gorgeous and shows well.

It’s been my policy to avoid using my page as a platform to express my personal opinions. Unfortunately, a particular issue has been clawing at me and I can no longer remain silent.

Lines wrapped around Whataburger? Seriously! I finally had a chance to try one of these overly-hyped burgers recently. The hamburger had this soupy feel to it like I almost needed a spoon. Lettuce looked like the exact same stuff I buy in a bag from Hy-Vee. Fries were stale and cold. And, the much talked about ketchup that I specifically requested never showed up in my bag.

Look, it was a good burger. But, I’m missing what all the hoopla is about. I’m rapidly coming to the conclusion that great athletes don’t necessarily make good food critics.

I shoot a fair number of listings for construction company MOJO Built. Besides their drop-dead gorgeous designs and unflinching eye for detail they have this Passion For Excellence vibe that permeates through everyone that works for them. Every job site comes complete with a large sign parked in the driveway reminding everyone that you’re the best and that’s why you’re here.

A few days ago, I was shooting one of their new builds and was upstairs when I noticed a plastic bag blew out of the garage and across the street. Now, this was one of those windy days with a storm moving in. If you waited just a bit, that bag would have been in Martin City in no time at all. Instead, a worker in the garage stopped what he was doing, got down off his ladder, went across the street to retrieve the bag and then inspected the other yards to make sure nothing else blew loose.

I love seeing people that care not just about their job but the entire organization they represent.

Photographed this amazing modern industrial home yesterday and completely fell in love. Gorgeous views and take a look at one of the best home offices I’ve ever seen.
