Well Folks I don't Post a lot on Facebook! But please allow me to rant. THE CITY OF LEESVILLE with the authority of the City administrator (Ms PL) and the Code Enforcement Office (Mr GB) shut down GUS from Selling watermelons to help raise money for his trip with the local baseball team to represent Leesville and Vernon Parish in Conway Arkansas in July. This is what is wrong with the town. Pawpaw's Florist Shop that has supported the CITY OF LEESVILLE IN MANY, MANY, MANY events and fundraisers since 1984 cannot allow GUS to sell watermelons on the parking lot of the flower shop. IT VIOLATES THE LAW with no common sense or reasons the NO SELLING ordinance (sec 46-275) of the city of Leesville. I have spoken to several business people, City council and YES THE CITY ADMINISTRATION.
Actions like this is the reason our town does not move forward.
Crime and Thugs are on the street but a 8 year selling watermelons is a threat to the community. BY THE WAY if you want a watermelon WE NOW AND WILL HAVE THEM INSIDE RUBY'S LEESVILLE FLORIST. What is the difference than others selling cookies, or having car washes, lemon aide stands, etc
I DON'T APOLOGIZE FOR CALLING THE CITY OF LEESVILLE OUT ON THIS ISSUE. Please share and if you need a watermelon. They are inside the shop
