Many of us in the industry were hopeful for a better year in 2021…praying that events can resume and “postponements” can be a thing of the past.
The pandemic continued and so did event postponements and cancellations. There were definitely mixed feelings during this year and despite the disappointments we were grateful for a “slow” year.
This “slow” year was when my husband and I found out we were expecting. 🙌🏾🙌🏾 As a Christian, I wanted to “wait” until my next marriage, no matter how long. “We” did just that and 7 months after our union, God rewarded us. 🤍
was shooting my branding session just a few days after I had found out we were expecting. I was so giddy, I just had to whisper to them: “I am pregnant!” 😊 They instantly decided to capture that moment. The result: I was speechless! Thank you again Allison and Carrie for capturing the strong emotions of that day. ❤️ you both!!
2021: I was becoming a mum, again!

My self-reflection journey has been so refreshing, yet sentimental. I tend to be very private when it comes to my personal story/hardships, but I have decided it’s time to share with the purpose of helping others find hope and hold on to faith.
While I continue to reflect on the highlights of 2020, I couldn’t help but think about what my life was like just 4 years prior. I decided to end what I thought was a loving marriage; I found myself confused in a toxic, traumatic, and life-threatening environment. With a 14 month old at the time, it was not an easy decision. But, I knew I was done. I was done giving my all and fighting to hold on to what I thought could be a perfect union.
I am a Christian and divorce was never an option for me. But after many attempts to make things work, I decided being free and putting my daughter first was priority. I had to take care of me in order to take care of her. I left. I enrolled in grad school (talk about timing!) and sought therapy—healing is key.
Fast forward 6 years later, I don’t look like what I have been through! I “lost” some close friends and family—some by choice, some not by choice. It’s ok to let go of what no longer serves you. I had to understand that it was normal and part of life. It’s just how relationships grow and evolve or don’t. My honest, courteous and extremely supportive family and closest friends was all I needed.

I didn’t know if I would ever experience love again, but my God knew who I was meant to be with; the right person for me; someone who I wouldn’t just settle for because I believed in marriage;
God reconnected me with my soulmate when I least expected it; seriously OUT OF THE BLUE! I was so stubborn and almost let “real love” slip away.

What is meant to be, will be. Don’t settle and don’t go looking for “it.” Love will find you! To whomever I reach with this message, don’t lose hope. Seek help and support. Stay true to yourself and your TRUTH. ❤️❤️❤️

2020
Being back on “social,” has allowed me to reflect on the highlights from the past two years. Let’s look back at the year 2020…
2020 was weird… for many, it was supposed to be an incredible year, entering into a new decade, but it shifted all too quickly into a tumultuous year from a deadly pandemic to a global movement of systemic racism.
Small Business Owners in the events industry like us struggled with pivoting through and adapting to the pandemic with cancellations/postponements. However, this crisis made our bond and relationship even STRONGER as we overcame every challenge TOGETHER! I am speaking specifically about relationships with venues, production companies, hotels, rental companies, suppliers, and other creatives.
As I self-reflect, I am reminded that my decision to “pause” during this “weird” year was both a necessary and valuable practice! I intentionally evaluated the overall trajectory of my life—my goals, my business, my motivators, my desires, etc.
I dug DEEP! And because of this, I am better than EVER.
2020 was rough, but personally, it was the beginning of something GREAT!

A little backstory…
Through a referral, the bride called us on Thursday night and asked if we could design her Monday wedding at her home. If you are doing the math, that’s only 3 full days in between! We knew this would be a challenge, but one we were willing and available to take on! The pandemic has not allowed for “normal circumstances” procedures, so we were game for this intimate non-traditional celebration. We stayed up that night and designed a plan that would normally take us 3 weeks to develop; presented it to her on Friday, and went into production mode almost immediately.
The outcome? A non-stressed, blushing bride, a content grateful groom and a beautifully designed home!

When two became one! 💍🥂
Stephanie and Daniel’s minimony was beyond beautiful.
