We offer BBQ from all different regions across the US including Kansas, Tennessee, Carolinas, Alabama There I was just starting out in a new job.

Our story started back in October of 2014, that is where Mark and I had met. My co-worker Mark from Arkansas comes into my office with a plate of ribs and says do you like BBQ? I said well of course I do.....he looked at me funny seeing how I was from the northeast. Some time had past maybe a month or so and I said to myself well time to repay the favor. So I brought my version of BBQ in and said

Mark would you like to try some ribs? He looked at me kind of funny seeing how I was guy from the northeast. Well needless to say it was all over from there. We continued to play the game of ok I need to one up the guy. After a while we decided we should just work together, and from that Backyard Smokers was born.

Hey Backyard Smokers Fans!

Today is the last day to get our BBQ we will be in Ledyard Center on the town green for the Farmers Market from 4-7pm.

We wanted to take a minute and thank all of our patrons over the years for the overwhelming support. We will miss seeing all of you every weekend.

There's only one song that comes to mind on a day like today...."The Cowboy Rides Away" by George Strait but before we go stop by one last time and see us and grab some BBQ or just stop by to say hello.

Hey Backyard Smokers Fans!

This is Chris your local pitmaster........ This post might come as quite a shock to most of you. After a long 9 years of providing south eastern CT with some of the best BBQ in the area I have made the decision to retire as a full time BBQ pitmaster. It has been a wild ride to say the least. It has had its challenges and it has had its triumphs. Over the years I have met a lot of people and have made a lot of friends along the way. Thank you for being supportive to Smallbusiness . I will miss seeing all of you at events and catering for all of you. It's time for me to close this chapter in my life and open a new one.

First and foremost I would like to thank my wife Emily King Herbette I could not have started this business without you. In the very early stages you were my assistant pitmaster helping me process meat till the early morning hours. Also raising our daughter as I was away most weekends. Thank you for all you have done to make my dream possible.....I love you honey.

I would also like to thank my amazing team for all the hard work and making Backyard Smokers LLC as successful as possible. I could not have done this without you especially in the early stages. Thank you Steve Ampania, Mark Johnson, Matt Kern, Adam Miller, Ryan Hastings, Mike Daoust, Michael Riegert, Rudolph Desabota, Rachel Graham, Stephen Brandon, Chaz Elliott, Rick Holtmeyer, and Robert Britt III.
