Grief is a messy and imperfect thing, and I’ve learned that it doesn’t really move in a straight line.

The last couple weeks I had actually been feeling okay for the first time in a while, and then a few days ago it hit me again like it was the first time I was hearing the news. Losing my brother still affects me in ways that I can’t explain or express through words.

I know everyone experiences grief differently, but I also know a lot of people understand the feeling of wanting reality to not be real.
