There's a quick question I want to ask… do you have a ceremony plan—like who cues the music, who has the rings, and when the license gets signed? Weekend Wedding Tip (Officiant Secret): Choose a “Decision Maker.”

Most couples plan the vows, the music, and the order of the ceremony down to the minute. But there’s one simple thing almost nobody plans for—and it’s usually the reason things feel chaotic right before we start.

I always ask my couples this: “If something changes 10 minutes before the ceremony—rain, late family, missing rings, a vendor issue—who has the authority to decide what we do next?”

Because on a real wedding day, the bride is getting dressed (and feeling all the emotions), the groom is being pulled in different directions, family members are stressed, friends are trying to help… and suddenly everyone is giving a different answer at the same time. That’s when time gets lost and nerves go up.

The easiest fix is to choose one trusted person—not the couple—to be the day-of Decision Maker. That person is the point of contact who can make quick calls if we need to adjust the plan, and they can give me a clear “go” or “pause” so the ceremony stays calm and smooth.

One more question I love asking (because it prevents heartbreak later): “If the marriage license isn’t physically in hand before the ceremony begins, what’s the plan?”

Atlanta couples 💍 — want to get married on Valentine’s Day without all the stress?

I’m Sabrina with Purely Wed by Sabrina, and I’m hosting a Valentine’s Day Pop-Up Elopement Chapel in downtown Lawrenceville. It’s appointment-only, so you’ll reserve a time slot, come in, have your moment, and head out married — simple and beautiful.

Here’s how it will go:
You’ll book your spot online, then you’ll get a confirmation email with what to bring (mainly your Georgia marriage license + IDs). On the day of, just show up about 10 minutes early, check in, and I’ll walk you through everything.

You’ll step into the decorated chapel setup, choose Sweet & Simple or Romantic & Elevated, have your ceremony, then we’ll handle the signing right after. Once you’re official, you’ll get your “Just Married” photo moment, then we’ll end with a champagne toast + a Valentine mini cake for the couple 🥂🍰
