Havoline Hall is the perfect event venue for all of your social gatherings! Brown was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1949.

Havoline Hall was a work in progress for many months (signed agreement to purchase on 3/1/13, other paperwork 5/13, and grand opening 11/1/14). We worked to bring the building back to its original grandeur...exposed brick walls, original tin ceiling, etc. There is a little bit of a background with the name Havoline Hall...
In 1909 the Indian Refinery in Lawrenceville began production of Havoline p

roducts and in 1934 began producing Havoline Wax Free Motor Oil, which set a new standard in oil quality. The other tie in is the historic Lawrenceville baseball team, the Havolines, established in 1919. The Havolines were coached by Mordecai Brown, aka Three Finger, who was an American Major League Pitcher at the turn of the 20th Century. Mordecai was born in Nyesville, IN and was a pitcher for the Cubs from 1904 to 1912, as well as part of two World Series Championships before he retired, moved to Terre Haute, IN, then later to Lawrenceville, IL to coach the Havolines. Brown was a lifetime member of the Elks Club and one of the groups preferred meeting places was the West Side Cigar Store in Lawrenceville...now Havoline Hall. Havoline Hall is the perfect event venue for all of your social gatherings...such as bridal/baby showers, meetings, rehearsal dinners, reunions, and even small weddings!

TEN YEARS of business is being celebrated today…and, it would not be possible without each of your Havoline Hall rentals over the years…THANK YOU!

Many different events have been conducted in the venue...Auctions, Banquets, Birthday Parties, Bridal/Baby Showers, Class/Family Reunions, Funeral Dinners/Celebrations of Life, Graduation Parties, Holiday Gatherings/Events, LCAC Play, Meetings, Photography Sessions, Retirement Parties, Rummage Sales, Vendor Events, Wedding Rehearsal Dinners, Weddings, Wedding Receptions, and Yoga Classes.

In 2013, the building where Havoline Hall is located was purchased. After a year and a half of working to make the building what it is today, the ribbon cutting/grand opening was conducted on November 01, 2014.

An agreement was made for the building that was deteriorating to the south of Havoline Hall in the fall of 2022. That building was taken down the first part of 2023, and that project is still a work in progress.

As always, I look forward to the rentals that are already on the books, catching up with my wonderful returning renters, and to meeting all of my future renters!

After having the building to the south of Havoline Hall taken down at the beginning of 2023, construction and brick work started on the outdoor space a few weeks ago! 😊🎉
There has been so much neglect to buildings/property over the years, that the hope is to prevent the loss of another great building on the square, so it can continued to be enjoyed by many in years to come!
With that being said, some work needs to be done inside this coming week, so Yoga with Sara Suzanne Switzer is going to be cancelled for Tuesday, April 23rd, but will be back the following week on Tuesday, April 30th.
