Fall will be here before we know it, but sunflower season is in full swing! 🌻

Back to school season is here and this gal has been a busy bee! I haven’t made it to the market the past couple weekends- it’s been a busy couple weeks at the gym. I’m going to try to make a least a couple more weekends at the Lawrenceburg Farmers Market before the fair gets here later next month. Hoping fall weather moves in soon and revives the dahlias as they hate this peak summer heat! Stay cool and hydrated, flower friends.☀️🌻💖

Oh, July… the peak of summer heat and garden sadness. Of course, the weeds thrive in these conditions and quickly overtake the flowers if you don’t stay on top of it. Disease is at its peak as well as the heat. The July struggle is almost worse than the winter wait. The past two weeks have taken a toll on the dahlias, and they are strugglinggg. The growing season will teach you about patience, problem solving and surrendering to the seasons. Giving up isn’t an option, only pivoting! When something doesn’t work, you try again. It’s time to clear the beds of weeds, cut all the dahlias back and hit them with some more fertilizer to give them a fighting chance at bouncing back. Humans are resilient and so is the garden! ☀️💖

Who needs some sunflowers?!🌻✨

My Procut sunflowers are starting to open and they’re stunning! Procut sunflowers are pollen-less so they’re perfect for cut flower bouquets. I have some red- lemon bicolor and plum (all the fall vibes). They’re one and done, so only available for the next week or so!

Don’t worry, I have plenty of pollen sunflowers blooming for my bee friends to enjoy too.🐝💛

This formal decorative dahlia is an amazing performer, and the perfect yellow to add to your lineup! With hints of apricot mixed in with the yellow, it’s a real stunner and perfect to pair with sunset colors. My favorite color combination is pink and yellow, so it’s safe to say I’ll be keeping this one around.☀️💖

After a long wait, the sunflowers are finally starting to bloom! 🌻💖

I planted them close together (which makes them bloom a little smaller), so I can use them in bouquets with the dahlias! Come by the Lawrenceburg Farmers Market this Saturday to get a beautiful bouquet of locally grown blooms.☀️🌻💖

Lots of things happening in the garden as July comes to an end; First round of sunflowers are starting to bloom, celosia is starting to bloom and they’re such a fun filler, eucalyptus is finally starting to get some good growth going (these are slow growers😅), dahlias are still producing slowly but surely and we’re getting a new zinnia opening every day. ☀️🌸💖

It was a great day at the Lawrenceburg Farmers Market on Saturday, and I’ll be back this weekend with even more fresh flowers! Y’all stay hydrated this week, and come see me this weekend for any flower needs. 💖
