I would like to thank The Bottleneck for hosting The Dead Deads Valley of the Sun and OxyToxin last night and to everyone who came out and supported a quality rock show on Father's Day!

What an incredible evening of rock and roll! I hope to bring more awesome bands together to rock Lawrence again soon and more often.

Stay tuned for more shows as I'm inspired to really get back into bringing more bands to the area.

Valley of the Sun are a 3 piece rock band from Cincinnati, Ohio.

Their latest album was inspired by the total solar eclipse which took place on day 1 of recording (April 8, 2024), Quintessence marks a return to the three-piece format for Valley of the Sun. With massive, sub-octave guitars, thundering bass, and a backbone of rock-solid drumming, the album is a bit of a departure from previous efforts, but long-time fans of the band will still find all the riffs, melodies, and soaring vocals that they've come to expect from VOTS over its previous four LP's.

The Dead Deads are a hard rock/alternative quartet from Nashville, Tennessee. Followed and aided by their faithful fan army known as The Dead Corps, they have created a sound and a culture that is part heritage, part science fiction, and all ROCK. Heads bang as metal and grunge riffs are beaten into submission by relentless, often bombastic rhythms. Sixties harmonies, brutal growls and finely crafted wordplay force unexpected stops and odd time signatures into undeniable hooks creating a new brand of drum-driven rock–brutal, silly and sublime.

The Dead Deads explore sounds from 90’s bands like PIXIES and Sonic Youth, to modern metal bands like Mastodon and Baroness , all while keeping their grunge/punk rock roots. They name Nirvana , Failure, Glassjaw , NOFX, Neurosis, Weezer, Helmet, Beck and (the) Melvins in amongst their hugely diverse list of influences.

Very excited to get back to booking some shows outside of my own projects here in Lawrence.

What starts as helping my friends route through the area on tour may grow into bringing more of my favorite smaller and bigger bands back through here.
