Meet Nancy McCready, one of the owners of n2photography and Eventful.
Nancy and her husband co-own n2photography, where they capture all stages of life (plus real estate!). They started their business in Nebraska over 10 years ago and relocated to Lawrence two years ago. “I’m loving all the new couples, students and families we're meeting here!” Together they have a vibrant, film-like style and focus on capturing the beauty in your current season of life — whatever that may be.
With Eventful, Nancy and her co-owner and friend, Heather, have a goal to create memorable experiences for your family. They provide themed sleepover and daytime tent parties for kids. “Kids missed out on a lot of special experiences these past few years, and we love getting to help bring some extra magic to their parties now.” They also plan to expand our party lineup to include adults, so stay tuned!
✨ What is your goal for the next year?
To keep growing and helping more people! My favorite thing is making people feel happy, and I’m so lucky I get to do that in both businesses.
✨Who is your biggest inspiration?
This is a tough one, and I don't have just one. I have a long list of people who inspire me, but at the top of the list would be my mom and husband. I'm sure that's cliche, but it's true:) I could list a million reasons for each of them.
✨What makes your business unique?
With n2photography, our style is unique in that we edit to emulate a specific type of film. Life is colorful, and we love seeing that color come through in imagery. Plus, I learned photography on film and feel most connected to images when they have that look and feel.
With Eventful, there aren't many companies in the area offering this service for families, so we're so thankful we can do it! Moms are busy, and we love making party planning easier on them (as they're usually the ones doing the heavy lifting).
✨ What other passions do you have?
My family, kayaking, reading, plants, real estate (I love perusing listings for fun) and being outside.
✨ What is your favorite thing about Lawrence?
Hands down the culture. We love the people here and the culture they've created. We originally thought we'd move to Kansas City, and I'm so happy we landed here instead. I love that everyone is free to be themselves and how caring everyone is about others and the world. We love the food scene here, too.
Nancy adds, “I recently started offering branding sessions for businesses! If you know of anyone who'd like some fresh photos for their website or socials, I'd love to help out!”
