Did you know that October’s birth flower is COSMOS 🌸
Here are some fun facts about the beautiful cosmos flower…
* 💕 Their name comes from the Greek word “kosmos,” meaning order, harmony, or an orderly arrangement—a reference to their beautifully balanced petals.
* 🌈 Cosmos come in pink, white, crimson, orange, yellow, and even chocolate-colored varieties.
* 🍫 Chocolate cosmos are especially fun—they have a fragrance that can smell surprisingly like chocolate or cocoa!
* 🦋 Cosmos are great pollinator flowers, attracting butterflies, bees, and other beneficial insects.
* ☀️ They’re sun lovers and generally bloom best with plenty of direct sunlight.
* 🌱 They’re relatively easy to grow and can actually produce more foliage and fewer flowers when the soil is too rich or heavily fertilized.
* ✂️ Cutting off spent blooms (deadheading) encourages many varieties to keep producing flowers.
* 🌼 Cosmos belong to the Asteraceae family, making them relatives of daisies, sunflowers, asters, and chrysanthemums.
