If you’re new here, welcome!

One of my recent wig videos found its way onto a lot of For You pages on another platform, and my pages have some new followers! So first… thank you. 💖

I’m Jill, the face behind Your Girl Friday LV.

I’m a traveling licensed cosmetologist based in Las Vegas, and I’ve been in love with vintage hairstyling since 2013. After developing an allergy to hair dye (and an unfortunate bleach incident that damaged my hair 😅), I discovered that I actually love wearing wigs. I can change my style whenever I want without worrying about regrowth, chemical damage, or committing to a look long-term.

I even shaved my head for charity, so I’ve worn wigs through many different stages of hair growth. I know firsthand how much confidence a great wig can give someone, and I think that perspective is a big part of why I enjoy creating them for others.

Whether it’s a bride who wants beautiful hair for her wedding day, someone getting ready for a special event, someone navigating hair loss, or someone who simply wants to try a different style for fun, I love helping people feel like themselves.

This photo was taken today while I was putting the finishing touches on a current bride’s custom wedding wig. Tomorrow I finally get to take all the clips out, photograph it, and send it on its way. I can’t wait to show you the finished result!

Before the brushing, shaping, and finishing touches, each section is carefully wrapped into rollers and steam set to help create a long-lasting style in synthetic hair.

It’s one of those behind-the-scenes steps most people never get to see—but it’s one of my favorites.

Every custom wig starts with preparation.

For this wedding wig, I blocked the lace, relaxed the factory texture, and created the foundation that the final style will be built on.

The styling is next… and I can’t wait to show you where this journey goes. ✨

One of those tiny upgrades that probably only another wig stylist would appreciate. 😄

I finally tried heat wrap bags on my canvas blocks instead of plastic cling wrap, and… there was definitely a learning curve.

The end result looks so much cleaner, protects the block better, and makes my workstation feel a little more professional.

It’s funny how the little improvements behind the scenes are what help every future project start off on the right foot.

Tomorrow the next wig project begins!

This vintage-inspired sculpted updo started with a simple wig, rollers, and a vision of timeless glamour. Watching the transformation from the first roller to the finished style is one of my favorite parts of the creative process.
