London's "first-ever" spatial audio listening room is set to open in Soho next month.

Coming from spatial audio specialists Polygon Productions, Polygon Portal is described as a "360° experience" allowing attendees to take in "multi-dimensional sound environments", powered by an L-Acoustics soundsystem.

Labels including Sony, Ninja Tune, Partisan, and Ghostly International are expected to hold showcases as part of the room's upcoming programme, alongside spatial audio premieres from artists such as Beth Orton, Sigur Rós, Fink and Jeff Buckley.

Attendance for events will be available via a free sign-up system with limited capacity. Events set to be held at Polygon Portal include a series of "one-off" live performances, album launches, playback of selected landmark albums and exclusive fan events.

Alongside its music events, Polygon Portal will also offer a "sound and wellbeing" programme, which will feature yoga sessions, pilates, sound baths, guided meditations and Qi Gong. Wellbeing sessions will also be hosted for music therapy charity Nordoff and Robbins, which they will also support through donations for events.

Police were called to Rhigos Mountain in Wales over the weekend as an illegal rave raged on amongst the mountaintops.

According to Wales Online, the unlicensed event took place across the weekend before police were eventually called to the scene on the morning of Sunday, April 26.

The rave was going ahead atop Rhigos Mountain in Rhondda Cynon Taf, southeast Wales – a popular tourist destination with viewpoints overlooking the local village.

Residents in the nearby village reported a large amount of police activity in the area, per Wales Online, before officers confirmed that an illegal rave was underway.

On Sunday, a South Wales Police spokesperson said: "Officers are in attendance at Rhigos Mountain Road, Rhigos, Rhondda Cynon Taff following a report of an unlicensed rave."

"A policing presence will remain in the area to ensure the safety of those participating and the wider public," they added. "This incident is ongoing."
