If you want to get married in a wedding chapel, you'll still need to do a little advance planning. A marriage license will need to be obtained beforehand, usually from your county courthouse. Check state requirements to see how far in advance you need to get the license.

Experts say elopement is getting more and more popular as the expectations of big, formal weddings climb higher. Eloping is a way to pare down and concentrate on the things that matter most: you and your partner. A wedding chapel is the perfect place for an elopement.

In modern weddings, the tossing of the garter (similar to the throwing of the bouquet) comes from the tradition practice of the new couple walking to and from the church. Single or unmarried members of the processional would sometimes follow the wedding couple to their room and playfully steal their stockings.

Unlike churches, wedding chapels are more flexible with the wedding arrangements, service, and decorations. You will be able to customize your wedding to suit your style while still exchanging vows in a church-like setting.

Historically, in Europe, some chapels were built by the upper classes as a way of inviting their favorite preachers to run a small and informal service. These were not necessarily of Christian origin and began the tradition of chapels being open to diverse beliefs.

After you get engaged, spend some time thinking about your vision for your wedding. If you want something small and intimate, yet more memorable than a quick civil ceremony at the county courthouse, a wedding chapel ceremony may be perfect for you.

The architecture of a chapel replicates the sacred feeling of a church, but without the restrictions of faith. Many couples who come from different backgrounds and faiths will feel welcome in a chapel and receive all the support they need to create a special day.

Do you and your love share a passion for shopping? If so, you might be interested in getting married in what may be the only wedding chapel in a shopping center in the U.S. Inside the Mall of Americas in Bloomington, Minnesota, more than 5,000 couples get married each year at the Chapel of Love.

When people refer to a wedding chapel, they mean a room or building where people go to get married, distinct from a legal court or a church. Wedding chapels are the perfect place to hold intimate ceremonies that don't require months of advance planning.

{Day 3: WEDDING DAY} 🤵🏽‍♂️💒👰🏽

Started the day off with lunch at Hard Rock Cafe Las Vegas with the soon to be newly-weds. 🤩

We did a little exploring and then headed off to get these two hitched at one of Vegas' most famous chapels, Chapel Of The Bells 🔔 💒💏!

The reception dinner was at HEXX Las Vegas which was yet another tantalizing food and drink experience.

We caught the exploding volcano 🌋 at The Mirage Hotel and Casino before heading along to experience the 🧊 minus5 ICEBAR 🧊 This was one of Matt's bucket list items for Vegas and I'm so glad we did it, it was sooooo fun!!! We stayed far longer than I ever would've thought because although it's only 15° those faux fur coats kept us all nice and cozy.

Definitely a night to remember forever. 😍

Going to the chapel, and I am going to get married, going to the chapel of love...renewing our vows and celebrating 30 years of marriage with my true love, Phillip Henry on 11/18 at 3pm. All friends and family are invited.
George and I were married here 42 years ago today. We renewed our vows on our 25th anniversary in this same chapel. He has since passed away, but I'm remembering how much we loved each other then, and still today. It's true...Forever starts now. I love you, Babe, now and always. XOXOXO, Me.
