ABOUT SOLID TRUTH
Solid Truth (Ida Marie Collins) is a nationally performing poet, motivational speaker, producer, and teaching artist whose work spans more than two decades across stages, classrooms, theaters, and cultural institutions nationwide and internationally. Based in Las Vegas since 2006, she emerged from The Poets Corner at the historic West Las Vegas Arts Center and has since performed, produced, and facilitated programs across hundreds of venues—from festivals and theaters to schools, libraries, and community spaces. Her national footprint includes work throughout California, Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, the Carolinas, Georgia, and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Her background includes principal theatrical roles at the West Las Vegas Library Theater and the College of Southern Nevada Theater, alongside extensive experience in broadcast media, radio, podcasts, and virtual platforms. As a motivational speaker and advocate, her work merges storytelling, leadership development, and trauma-informed healing. A teaching artist with Poetry Promise, Solid Truth facilitates literacy and poetry programs throughout the Clark County School District, including Poets in the Schools and Nevada Reading Week.
