I’m curious…do you like styled shoots, or not a fan?!

I know styled shoots are a topic in the industry, some love them, some hate them. I love that it gives us vendors a chance to collaborate and get creative. Most times in real weddings, we are at the mercy of our clients and what they want. We can give creative ideas, but at the end of the day, we deliver what the client wants. Styled shoots give us a moment to step outside of that box, and play! I will say we should be stating them for what they are, and not playing it off to be a real wedding. This can create problems and misconception on what is realistic and what is not.

This one is an oldie but goodie! I had fun designing this table. Instead of using your typical light runner, I used a full size linen to drape across the table in a runner-like fashion. It created more depth and texture adding to a fuller, more layered look! This is most definitely an achievable look on a real wedding too. I like to play around on our styled shoots, but still showcase something that couples can do!

Let’s define luxury. Some of us planners got together this week, discussed this topic and what it means. Luxury to us is creating an experience you and your guests have never felt before. It could be as simple as upgrading your chairs, adding on a charger plate, or ordering menu items that you don’t often get to splurge on. It could even be hiring a vendor you really want but didn’t think would fit in the budget! Then, It could be as large as a room filled with floral from floor to ceiling. Everyone’s interpretation of luxury will look different!
