The CSI Group Play format incorporates a wild card system, allowing a number of teams that may not have placed at the very top to still advance to Stage 2. This ensures that even if a team doesn't finish among the top performers based on match win percentage, rack wins, or strength of opponents, they still have a chance to compete in the final knockout stage, making the tournament more inclusive and giving every team a fair shot at winning.
