One of my absolute favourite things about being a celebrant is creating space for couples to have a ‘little moment' just the two of them before the rest of the celebrations begin 🥂
A chance to take a breath and look at each other and hold hands a little tighter! Let the enormity of what you've just done quietly sink in! We actually did it. We're married.... Amongst all the excitement and all the hugs, the ch*****ne, the photographs and the celebrations, there's something incredibly beautiful about having "one quiet moment" that belongs only to you two 🤍

There's something incredibly precious about having your grandparents standing beside you on your wedding day. ❤️
To have the people who came before you there to witness the beginning of your 'forever' is so super special. They carry stories, traditions, values and a lifetime of love that have been quietly passed down through generations and in that moment, you realise you're not just celebrating two people falling in love, but the beautiful family story that brought you here. If you're lucky enough to still have your grandparents with you, having them there on your wedding day is something to treasure deeply. Because one day, when you look back at these photographs, it won't just be the beautiful outfits or the gorgeous flowers you see... You'll see the generations. You'll see the love. And you'll remember just how incredibly lucky and blessed you were to have them there. Some photographs are more than photographs. They become family history .... I so wish my grandparents could have been there on my special day 😢

♥︎I take love to the altar... and then I take it home to my backyard! When I'm not being your wedding wingwoman, I'm happiest at home surrounded by my four-legged family, getting my hands dirty, growing our veggies, checking on everyone and making sure my 'little crew' is loved 🤍and looked after. Whether it's my couples or my animals, I'm all about showing up, taking care of the little things and giving plenty ♥︎of♥︎love♥︎ along the way. I really do have a thing for love stories... whether they walk down the aisle or trot around my backyard!

I don’t just preach it… I practice it!
Being a marriage celebrant might mean standing up front, telling your love story and making sure the rings go on the right fingers… but for me, it’s SOOoo much more than that.
I’ve spent 36 years in the fitness industry, so movement, strength and looking after myself aren’t just things I talk about,they’re part of who I am. And now I bring that same energy into my celebrant world. Because if I’m asking my couples to show up as the BEST version of themselves on their wedding day, I reckon I should be doing exactly the same!
A wedding day can be long, emotional, exciting and absolutely bloody brilliant and I want the energy, strength and stamina to be right there beside my couples from the first hug to the last dance! I don’t want to just officiate your wedding… I want to have the energy to bloody well LIVE it with you👌
So yes… this celebrant lifts weights, sweats, trains, gets out of breath and occasionally questions her choices halfway through a workout!
Because Marry Me Mish isn’t just about getting you down the aisle. It’s about getting you ready for the BEST day of your life. ❤️

Well, this was a bit of fun!
A huge thank you to the Wairarapa Age Times Midweeker for having a little chat with me about life in the Wairarapa, my journey from fitness fairy and personal trainer to gym owner and now marriage celebrant, and why I’ve decided to combine two of my biggest passions - Wellness and Weddings.
And then there was the very serious question… “What would you do if you were Mayor for the day?” 👑
Let’s just say "Feel Good Friday" might become a permanent fixture! I absolutely loved sharing a little piece of my story. From helping people feel strong and confident in the gym to helping couples feel their absolute best as they walk down the aisle, I reckon I’ve found my sweet spot!

And just like that... the nerves melt away. The vows have been spoken. The rings are on. And suddenly, they're Mr & Mrs Focas❤️
There's something so incredibly special about that moment just after the "I do".
The moment the butterflies settle, the tears dry and the room exhales and it finally sinks in. You're married. Your husband and wife. You've just started your forever…♥︎
I get to witness so many beautiful moments as a celebrant, but this one will always get me watching two people go from nervous anticipation to that enormous, all consuming smile that says..."We actually did it." Mr & Mrs Focas, thank you for trusting me with your love story and for choosing me to be your celebrant and your Wedding Wingwoman.
It was such a privilege to stand beside you, calm the nerves, tell your story, hold the space for those big emotions and be part of the moment you became you two, forever. It was all so very gorgeous.
I hope married life is already wrapping you both in all the happiness, laughter and love you deserve and I really hope our paths cross again soon because once I've been your Wedding Wingwoman, I'm not quite ready to disappear from your story just yet!
Here's to your forever, Mr & Mrs Focas. What a privilege it was to be there when it began as your celebrant.

❤️PLANNING❤️YOUR❤️CEREMONY❤️

I don't believe your wedding ceremony should be something you simply get through before the party begins. I believe it should be the moment that stops the room. The moment your people lean in. The moment you look at each other and think, "this is us." ❤️and that's why I take my time…I want to sit with your story and really listen to you both. I soooo want to know about the first date that nearly didn't happen! The ridiculous things you laugh about that nobody else understands. The hard times you've walked through together. The moment you knew, "this is my person."🤍 and the little habits you secretly adore.
Who are the people who have loved you, supported you and helped bring you to this moment.
Because those are the details that make a ceremony unforgettable.
Anyone can stand at the front and say the words “I now pronounce you husband and wife."(Borrrrrring!)
I want to give you something much bigger than that. I want to create a ceremony that makes your best friend cry. Your dad laugh.
Your mum reach for the tissues and your guests look at each other and smile because they recognise ‘your’ love. And most importantly... I want you to look at each other, hear your story being told, and feel that little lump in your throat because every word is totally you.
Your wedding day happens once. Your love story is even more precious.
So l'll take the time. I'll ask the questions. I'll listen to your stories. I’ll find the magic in the details and then I'll turn all those little pieces of you into something you'll carry with you long after the flowers have faded and the ch*****ne has been drunk! I'm not just your celebrant, I'm the keeper of your "love story" for the day.

A little throwback to an exciting day last week!
I had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with journalist "Lucy Cooper" for a very exciting conversation where we talked about two things very close to my heart... 🤍MARRIAGE 💍& FITNESS… and it didn't stop there... we recorded a podcast, hit the airwaves for live radio AND made an appearance on live TV! From love and relationships to keeping strong, healthy and confident through life's different chapters we covered it all!

A Sunrise, The Brooklyn Bridge & A YES! 💍
Take us back to the moment...
It was 5am in New York, and Jess and Woody were heading to the Brooklyn Bridge to watch the sunrise. Jess thought that was all they were there to do! She had done plenty of pestering in the months before, but she was completely blindsided when Woody turned to her and said
"You should turn around and look at this."
She turned around...and there he was. Down on one knee. The bridge was quiet, peaceful and almost empty. The sunrise was beginning, and for a moment, it felt like the whole of New York belonged just to them. Jess was completely shocked and emotional of course. There were tears, laughter, jumping and plenty of happy screaming! Woody asked, "Will you marry me?" But Jess didn't even let him finish! She was already saying... "YES! YES! YES!" and then came the all important question..."Can I keep both rings?" 💍💍
Yes... there were TWO rings in the box! Woody had bought the first ring Jess loved, then decided it wasn't quite 'sparkly' enough and bought another one too! But perhaps the most magical part...Two girls on the other side of the Brooklyn Bridge had filmed the proposal and later sent the footage to Jess and Woody. Complete strangers capturing a moment they thought belonged only to them.
What a gift. What a moment. What a place to begin forever...and now...from that unforgettable sunrise on the Brooklyn Bridge to their beautiful wedding day.
