The Arts District is not a problem — it’s the pulse.

A proposed ordinance aims to cut outdoor music at 10 PM. That’s not regulation — that’s erasure.

Rare Aire stands with every venue, artist, and soul who breathes life into this neighborhood. Music until 2 AM isn’t a luxury — it’s the culture that built this place.

We’re not turning the volume down. We’re turning the pressure up.

Apparently, I need to make this crystal clear.

Over the past few days, I’ve received several so-called “jokes” and memes laced with racist Asian stereotypes — as if my opposition to a certain Midtown initiative means I would find that funny, or worse, agreeable. Let me be unequivocal:

That is not who I am. That is not what this movement is about.

My partner is Native Hawaiian and Filipino. I’ve spent over 30 years of my life standing in direct opposition to racism in all its forms — not just in speech, but in action, in community, and in principle. I don’t just talk about anti-racism — I live it. Every day.

So let me say this clearly, for anyone who’s confused:
We are not anti-Asian.
We are not anti-Todd English.
We are not anti-woman.

What we are is deeply opposed to what this particular development push represents:

A veiled attempt to silence the soul of the Arts District by reintroducing a noise ordinance that would cripple the very culture that made 18b matter in the first place.

We are defending the creative heartbeat of Las Vegas — the music, the art, the community gatherings that bring life to this district.

This is not personal. This is principle.

If you can’t separate opposition to harmful policy from racial animosity, that’s on you — not on us.

We will continue to organize, to speak truth, and to protect the future of this city’s culture — with integrity, inclusion, and unwavering clarity.
