I’m pleased to announce that after spending 26 years photographing 668 weddings I’ve officially retired from the wedding photography business (I still have my “day job” working for Montgomery County so I am not fully retired yet, just working 5 days a week now instead of 6 or 7)
Here are two recent photos showing the evolution of my camera equipment over the years; in the first photo I am posing with the original equipment I used to shoot weddings and in the second photo I am posing with the equipment I utilized in the end. I started out with a manual focus/manual exposure camera utilizing film which only allowed 24 exposures per roll and I wore a heavy lead cell battery pack across my shoulder to power the manual flash. I ended up with a compact Nikon Z5 mirrorless camera and a compact flash unit.
Many thanks to all the great couples who allowed me the privilege of documenting one of the most important days in your lives. It was a pleasure working with each of you along the way.
A special thanks goes out to the many talented individuals who worked alongside me over the years as either a second shooter, editor (or both). I would have never been able to pull this off without your amazing talent, and kindness. I’d like to specifically mention: Felicia, Brooke, Claire, Jim and Erin.
Also, a shout out to those venues and caterers who believed enough in me and my work to list me as one of their preferred vendors: The Merion Tribute House, Conner Catering, The Farmhouse, Presidential caterers and Jeffrey Miller Catering.
Finally a big thanks goes out to my wife Lisa and my daughters Samantha and Corrine for allowing me to be away from them on so many weekends, often missing out on special events/moments in their lives.
I’m looking forward to being able to enjoy my weekends once again as well as getting back into my fine art and street photography.
