It feels so special to be finding our rhythm at the Exquisite Blumen boutique.
From creating one-of-a-kind fresh flower arrangements for our clients, to curating beautiful pieces for the shop and upcoming photoshoots—every day brings something new.
There’s a lot to learn, and I’ll admit, it can be both exciting and a little daunting. But I’m so grateful for my wonderful team (and my ever-faithful furry sidekicks) for their support, encouragement, and the occasional paw of approval. 🐾

I was delighted to donate the florals for Bard’s Bounty, a wonderful local event.
This fundraiser supported the Island Shakespeare Festival — a beloved part of Whidbey Island summers for 16 years now. It’s always a joy to take part in something that brings people together through art, beauty, and community.
The event was held at charming Greenbank Farm and catered by the talented team at — a true Whidbey gathering in every sense.
Wishing the festival another season of magic onstage!

Now that everything is starting to fall into place, I keep catching these quiet, beautiful moments where my vision is becoming reality.
Like this arrangement—calla lilies and fresh foliage in one of our rectangular vases, perfectly framed by the soft, natural lines of the shelves behind it. As I placed it on the table, a sunbeam lit up the lilies, and I paused to take it in.
It’s easy to stay focused on the to-do list, but in that moment, I felt a real sense of gratitude—for the hard work, for the creative process, and for trusting the path that led here. I’m learning to celebrate the small wins and see them for what they are: proof that it’s all coming together.

My trick to keeping cut hydrangeas fresh and vibrant for longer is…

…boiling water! Hydrangeas produce sap that clogs their stems, but a quick dip in boiling water for up to 30 seconds can dissolve the sap, allowing water to reach the blooms. If your hydrangeas start wilting prematurely - submerge the entire flower in a water bath for 15-20 minutes. Keep the blooms fully submerged, using a weight if needed, to revive them through both stems and petals.

I hope this trick helps you to enjoy your hydrangeas for days!
