Rockin' the Park, Lancaster NH

Rockin' the Park, Lancaster NH Summer concert series in Centennial Park, Lancaster, NH. Rock in the park. The last few years the Noyes Lecture Fund has been our primary sponsor.

Rockin' the Park is an outdoor summer concert series that takes place in Centennial Park in Lancaster, NH. Started in 2017, it was originally hosted by Taproot Farm & Environmental Education Center. Following a year off for the pandemic, it started up again, run by a small group with the goal of featuring live music in Lancaster while bringing the community together. Local & regional bands from th

e North Country, New Hampshire, and New England are selected for the quality and diversity of their sound, and their professionalism. There is often a food vendor at each event, and 100-200+ people gathered in the park enjoying a musical evening together. Answers to FAQs:

• Concerts are free and open to the public.

• If the weather is bad, the Lancaster Town Hall is the backup location.

• Concerts start at 7:00 pm and run till 8:30. If there is a food vendor they usually start selling between 5:00 and 6:00.

• First concert is typically the 1st Friday in July.

• We prefer to feature full bands rather than solo artists or duos, as there are more places for smaller acts to perform. To put the "Rockin'" in Rockin' the Park, we look for bands that have a drummer, although we make exceptions.

• We try to not have the same bands play back to back years in order to bring fresh sounds to the community.

• Rockin' the Park has been funded by business sponsors and by local grantors and charitable organizations.

This Saturday, August 1 at 1:15 pm, is Lancaster Acoustic Fest! This year’s lineup features 3 artists, starting with the melodic, emotional folk pop of Nathan Wells. Wells was the lead singer, guitarist, and keyboard player of acclaimed indie pop band Epic Season and plays the same role in his current group Winifred. Nathan Wells will be followed by The Barnyard Incident, a 5-piece band from Bethlehem that plays everything from folk to Celtic to rock, with blues, jazz, and bluegrass thrown in. They cover the likes of The Be Good Tanyas, The Steel Drivers, Bonnie Raitt, and Doc Watson, along with their originals. The band includes Deb Sullivan on lead vocals and percussion, Perry Williams on upright bass, Barry Moore on dobro, mandolin, guitar, and harmonica, Dean Bakes on mandolin, guitar, and banjo, and James Sullivan on fiddle and guitar. The final group is August First (playing on the first of August!), a New England music festival favorite, including frequent appearances at Jerry Jam. August First is a "Blues-Grassicana" project with a unique take on stringed music through their vibrant, lyrical originals and diverse covers. They feature mandolin, banjo, acoustic guitar, tenor guitar, banjolele, cello, upright bass, and soulful lead vocals by Nicole D’Amico, one of the musicians in last year’s Acoustic Fest standout Women Folk Women Folk Music Experience. August First’s most recent album is The Space in Between, available to stream everywhere. Lancaster Acoustic Fest is sponsored by the Noyes Fund and by Passumpsic Bank, SMALL TOWN LOUD, The Granite Grind, Garland Mill, and The Community Builders Hub.
