Post Oak Ridge State Park, about 15 miles from the Lampasas city limits, hopes to have day passes available by the fall of 2026. Drawn public hunts already have been held there, and the park will host a guided hike on Jan. 1, 2026, although registration for the event already reached capacity.

One of the most amazing AIRBNB's we have ever stayed at. Kind, friendly, and communicative hosts. There were lots of extra towels for us to borrow, plenty of fridges to hold all the food and drinks. Pots and pans we could use to cook with, pool floats to float and so much more. It was so much more than we expected and can't wait to go back. It was peaceful area, with the store right down the road if we needed it.

The total lunar eclipse will occur on March 14-15, 2025. It will last approximately 65 minutes, during which the Moon will shift from its usual bright white to a deep red or brown shade.
