The poem I wrote from our last 4th of July Family Outing in 2024, for those who missed it:
(WE ARE ALL FAMILY)
We have Mothers, Fathers, Step-Mothers, Step-Fathers, Mother-in-laws, Father-in-laws, Grandmothers, Grandfathers, G Grandmothers, G Grandfathers, GG Grandmothers, GG Grandfathers, GGG Grandmothers, GGG Grandfathers, Sons, Daughters, Step-Sons, Step-Daughters, Son-in-laws, Daughter in-laws, Brothers, Sisters, Step-Brothers, Step-Sisters, Brother-in-laws, Sister-in-laws, Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Grandchildren, Godmothers, Godfathers, God Sons, God Daughters and Close Family Friends.
Whatever role you may play or however many titles you hold, we all are born and sometimes grow old.
We've been through many storms, trials and tests.
We've shared joys and happiness, endured arguments, fights and a whole lot of mess.
We pray together, struggle together and stay together.
We've allowed things to divide us, frustrate us and make us want to quit.
We've allowed our gossiping tongues to tear each other apart, because the words we speak come straight from the heart.
We should always build each other up, and not knock each other down.
We know life is short as we've already loss love ones along the way.
Who will always be in our hearts and minds to stay.
Time is not always on our side, we must embrace one another, love one another and swallow our
pride.
We must continue to walk by faith and not by sight and keep God first in our life, removing all doubt , fear, misery and strife.
Until we are called home to a better place and see Jesus face to face.
What will your legacy be? We are all family.
