As my business has grown, I’ve realized that this evolution deserves a name that truly reflects who we are and what we do. That’s why I’m so excited to share our rebrand: The Modern Orchid. ✨
When I started this journey with Mariah Made It, it was just me, freelancing for other florists, learning the ropes, and showcasing my work. The name served its purpose—a simple way to highlight my creations while working alongside talented florists. But as the years passed, it became clear that the name no longer fit. It felt limiting, as though it didn’t fully capture the scale, creativity, and ambition of what my company has become.
The 2024 wedding season was nothing short of extraordinary. We designed for 45 weddings and 10 special events, and our team grew to over 10 talented individuals. We’ve conquered massive installations, mastered intricate planning and styling, and executed multiple events on the same day. There were moments when I found myself overseeing three weddings simultaneously—a testament to the trust I have in my team’s abilities.
Mariah Made It was built on my drive and passion, but today, this company is so much more than me. It’s about the incredible team that brings these events to life—the people who pour their hearts into making each wedding and special event unforgettable.
One of the best pieces of advice I’ve received about growing a business is to surround yourself with people who can match your passion. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to find such a team. They’ve faced challenges head-on, exceeded their own expectations, and embraced the mantra: “I’m not sure exactly how we’re going to do it, but we’ll find a way.” And every single time, we deliver.
The new name represents everything this company has become and everything we aspire to be. While my passion remains the foundation, The Modern Orchid reflects that this is no longer a one-person operation. There will be events where I’m in another state or focusing on a different project, but I have built a team that embodies our vision and consistently exceeds expectations.
We chose “modern” to signify our commitment to staying ahead of trends while creating timeless designs. And the “orchid”? It’s my personal favorite flower—a symbol of elegance, beauty, and resilience that’s been part of our journey from the very beginning (even as their prices continue to rise!).
To my amazing couples, clients, and supporters: thank you for believing in us and being part of this incredible journey. As we grow, our designs, concepts, and ex*****on will evolve, but our dedication to making your moments extraordinary will never change.
