And that’s a wrap on pre-sale!

It is such a surreal time in my life right now as I get ready to bid farewell to Island Thyme Catering. I look at this photo and I remember as Vince and I built a commercial kitchen and venue by hand. Our dreams cemented for eternity in mortar and drywall. Three total kitchens in 13 years with this first space being built out in 2012 for opening in 2013. Today as I met with several buyers of my equipment I was flooded with memories. Some fellow industry people I met for the first time today even though we have virtually followed each other for years, reconnecting with old bosses from my restaurant days, and local non profit organizations who will forever have a piece of my heart. In a sense, my dream will live on forever as others grow and expand with pieces of my ITC kitchen. Surreal is the only word for this…….so many emotions being felt in my beating heart. Pre-sale is closed……stay tuned come late October for more updates of what is still looking for a lovely new owner💕. Thank you (one million times plus) for being part of my novel.

Island Thyme is off for a couple of weeks, so I’m going to use this time to highlight some local businesses that I adore. Some are food oriented and some are not. Regardless, they have a piece of my heart.

To start this business highlight off, I would love to introduce you to

I was gifted a candle from this company last year for my birthday and I was smitten! I just so happened to be gifted another one (by the makers) today (and my house smells amazing). These make such wonderful gifts and are the epitome of Michigan summers (beach sand, petoskey stones, beach stones). What a great birthday gift, staff gift, corporate gift, wedding party favor……..and FYI once burned that glass candle holder can become your new favorite rocks glass……it’s a win/win. As a business owner, I know that I’m super happy to collaborate with them on an upcoming project and I love watching this small Michigan business grow!

What a weekend! 8.10.25 was such a fabulous end to our triple header weekend (and no, I don’t try to make ITC do things like this often)! This was the gala for the National Writers Series and it just so happened to take place at a venue that has my whole heart. If you haven’t visited the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy, you are missing out. This space is filled with thought and inspiration! A fun family style dinner to bring to life and my favorite part will be multiple guests coming up to me to tell me how wonderful my team was💗. What dreams are made of!!!!
