I created this image as a birthday gift for my brother in law Mike Soncek. This Soviet Mig was parked at Sarasota airport behind a tall chain link fence. I took a series of photos through the fence and blended the pieces together in Photoshop. I then added the 56, because this was for his 56th birthday. I then added "Soncek Mig Aviation" and the "Chicago Rider" logo to personalize the shot for him. I printed a 40" x 15" print and mounted to complete the gift. He hung it in his office at Tropitone Furniture where it hangs to this day. Mike's coworkers asked him, how did he get inside the fence to take this shot? How cool to immortalize his tenure there even after retirement.

Twenty two years ago tomorrow I took this group shot. I have never had a more cooperative group. It was a morning shoot. The planes at Altus AFB Oklahoma are parked facing the west. The Colonel called the General and got authorization to turn the plane to the east. The power of the camera!
