Seeing the flags and crosses lining the roads through town is always such a powerful reminder of the sacrifice so many families have made.

We hope everyone takes a moment today to reflect, remember, and honor those who never made it home. ❤️

The ovens are warming up and this month’s Denmark Acres Bakeshoppe bake sale menu is officially open! 🤎

From our homemade pecan shortbread cookies and oatmeal cream pies to fresh wheat bread, candied pecans, pancake mix, ranch mix, and more… everything is made in small batches the old-fashioned way.

A little progress on the sluice today👏

We originally planned to stain the wood brown, but after seeing the charcoal color go on, we changed directions and decided to match it closer to the Mining Company trim and we’re loving how it’s turning out so far. It’s giving it more of that old western mining town feel we’ve been envisioning for Denmark Acres.

We had every intention of finishing today… until the Florida heat reminded us who’s really in charge 😅☀️
So we called it quits before melting completely.

Next up: painting the General Store!
Although we may need to start at sunrise if we want to beat this Florida heat.

Well… looks like we have a winner, folks! 🤠🎉

Thank you all so much for your help and for being a part of this decision—we truly appreciate it more than you know.

We have to admit… we do love the lighter color because it really stands out among the other buildings and catches your eye. But at the same time, we also love the deeper tone because it blends in so naturally with the rest of the town and gives that true Old West feel.

So now we’re thinking… maybe there’s a way to meet somewhere in the middle 🤔

Either way, we know it’s going to look amazing, and we’re so thankful for all your input along the way 🤎

Do you know what this is? 👀👇

Back in the 1800s, tools like this fluting iron were used to press and shape ruffles and pleats into clothing—something you don’t see much of today. It’s amazing to think about the time and care that went into even the smallest details back then.

We want to take you back in time and share these pieces of history—whether we find them in old stores, antique shops, or along the way. It’s one small way we hope to help keep history alive.
